Multipurpose Vessels
Port Authority of New South Wales Fireboat Construction (PA NSW)
MSI is currently completing a role as the client representative to oversee the construction of two 18 metre aluminium fireboats being built by Birdon in Port Macquarie for PA NSW.
These vessels are multipurpose vessels that are also used as for research and hydrographic surveying. This role includes revision of the vessel plans for compliance with the National Standards for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) and weekly inspections during construction to verify:
Construction is in accordance with well-established industry practise and applicable regulatory standards; Construction is in accordance with the approved plans;
Construction is in accordance with the approved plans;
Construction and fit-out is in accordance with the contracted function and performance specifications and applicable regulatory requirements;
Surveys and tests performed in accordance with the project Inspection test plan;
Build is progressing in accordance with agreed schedule;
Milestone payment inspections;
Commissioning and acceptance trials to verify compliance with the contracted function and performance specifications;
Attendance at Project Control Group Meetings;
Reporting of the above to PA NSW.
