AIMS Regional Class Research Vessel Design
MSI is currently part of the design team – along with Glosten and One 2 Three Naval Architects to provide AIMS with design documentation and engineering services for the following key packages of work to deliver Australia’s next regional class research vessel:
Development of a concept vessel design (or designs) for review and selection. Progress the selected concept design to full concept design for review.
Progress the concept design to preliminary design for construction tender.
Ensure design is compatible with land based modular capability design.
Cost estimation for the vessel construction and whole of life cost operating model.
Support development of a detailed business case for government by supplying relevant design, data and cost estimate information.
Development of a tender package for vessel construction. Assist in shipyard contract negotiations.
MSI will also be a part of the team to deliver the following Services in the Delivery Phase:
Provide shipyard tendering & evaluation support.
Progress the preliminary design to detailed design for review and approval.
Project support for construction phase from contract signing to handover.
Ongoing input to the cost management for the duration of the project.
Post commissioning and sea trial support for the duration of the warranty period.
